About Lanz Drones, LLC

Micah Lanz, owner of Lanz Drones, grew up with deep roots in farming, spending his early years helping out on the family farm and learning the ins and outs of agriculture. That hands-on experience sparked a lifelong connection to the land—but it was his fascination with technology, especially drones, that planted the seed for something more.

As a freshman in high school, Micah got his first small camera drone, and it wasn’t long before he dreamed of upgrading to more advanced equipment and started exploring how drones could be used for agriculture.

​By his senior year in high school, his passion had grown into something bigger. Along with purchasing a drone, spraying equipment and building a custom trailer, he obtained all the necessary licenses, training, and certification.

As an active member of FFA, he donated his first drone spraying services for the organization’s benefit auction. An area farmer purchased the service, and after seeing the results firsthand, word began to spread. What started as a simple donation turned into a steady stream of local business.

​Today, Lanz Drones is the result of that blend of farming experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and a love for innovative technology. With every job, Micah brings a personal touch and a deep understanding of what farmers need—because he’s been in their boots.
